Global home technology innovator, SharkNinja (HKEX: 1691.HK), has announced the appointment of Tom Brown as the new President for UK and Europe.
Brown, who joins SharkNinja from Danish electronics company Jabra (CPHEX: GN.CO), has over 20 years’ experience in the consumer goods industry, leading high performing global teams to drive strategic transformation and profitable growth. Along with Jabra, Brown has also held executive positions with Dutch technology firm TomTom.
SharkNinja, which entered the UK in 2014, has seen unrivalled growth across both arms of its home appliances business, with Shark having grown to be the UK’s best-selling vacuum cleaner brand[i] and Ninja the UK’s best-selling multicooker brand[ii]. Brown’s new role in the business will encompass continuing the product category expansion across both the Shark and Ninja brands, supporting further market growth and optimising all aspects of the business, with a particular focus on people and culture.
The appointment comes as SharkNinja announces its continued UK and EU expansion – which, following the opening of additional office space in Leeds last year, saw the firm recently purchase 25,000 square feet of new state-of-the-art space inside Battersea Power Station and launch into several new EU territories including France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
SharkNinja cites its investment into cutting-edge technologies as key to its ongoing success, delivering affordable, accessible innovation that positively impacts people’s lives every day in every home around the world. Last year, the firm also expanded into the beauty market with the launch of its STYLE iQ hairdryer, a move which was so successful that further innovation is planned in the category this year and beyond.
Brown will drive the company forward with a focus on market-leading product innovation in existing and new categories, along with customer service, continuing to deliver five-star-rated products that exceed customer expectations.
Brown comments: “SharkNinja has a proven track record of putting the customer first and at the centre of all decisions. The outcome is market-leading products and technology, resulting in best-in-class customer satisfaction. This is clear from both customer and professional testing reviews. It’s one thing having industry-leading products, but where SharkNinja excels even further is in its communication of these products and their benefits. It is this marketing excellence which has made both brands household names and which attracted me to join the company. Despite proven,
consistent business performance, there are still huge opportunities ahead of SharkNinja and I look forward to overseeing exciting market expansion, product category growth and the development of more high-performing teams. I am very much looking forward to meeting everyone who has been instrumental in the company’s impressive journey so far, and to the prospect of being part of the next phase of expansion and development.”
Neil Shah, Chief Commercial Officer at SharkNinja comments: “We are thrilled to have Tom coming on board to drive SharkNinja through this next period of exciting growth. With an extensive background in Sales and Marketing and leadership experience at some of the world’s leading brands, Tom is excellently placed to optimise all aspects of our business. This will not only generate the best results, but also ensure SharkNinja continues to be an incredibly desirable place to work.”
