Annodata’s involvement makes up part of £1.2m fund to cultivate next generation of sportspeople
Annodata, a Kyocera Group company and one of the UK’s longest-standing independent providers of managed services, has proudly renewed its sponsorship of the GLL Sport Foundation (GSF), bridging the gap in sports inequalities and supporting today’s and tomorrow’s athletes.
GLL is the largest UK-based charitable social enterprise delivering leisure, health, and community services, it is dedicated to supporting sport in the community and plans to cultivate an era of sporting success amongst British athletes. In previous years, it has helped now-established stars including Anthony Joshua, Tom Daley and Lutalo Muhammad.
Up-and-coming athletes often face huge financial burdens in areas such as training and travel. With this in mind, GSF has announced that 2,978 talented young athletes from across the UK – including modern pentathlete Joe Choong and Paralympic swimmer Stephanie Millward – will benefit from a cumulative £1.2m worth of free gym and swim memberships.
Annodata has made no secret of its ambition to continue supporting the UK’s top athletes in their pursuit of success, as part of its steadfast commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Martin Fairman, Group Sales and Marketing Director, commented:
“We made the decision to begin supporting the GLL Sport Foundation in 2015, and it is a pleasure to announce the renewal of our sponsorship with this incredible institution. Many bright and talented athletes throughout the United Kingdom are unable to chase their dreams of sporting success due to lack of funding, especially with the disruption caused by the pandemic. We’re passionate about helping GSF give equal opportunities to all young people, and achieving their dreams of competing on the international stage.”
Peter Bundey, GSF Chair, commented:
“These last 16 months since the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic have had an unprecedented impact on our lives and freedoms to protect lives and combat the virus. We have been impressed with all the creative ways that athletes have found to keep their sporting journey moving.
We are therefore proud that, together with our sponsors and partners, we have been able to continue to offer support to talented athletes. I would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all our sponsors, partners, and supporters, who remain the lifeblood of this fantastic GLL initiative”.
